Ballyhass Cub & Scout Summer Camp 2015

Our cubs and Scouts are back after a wonderful Annual Summer camp at ballyhass lake Activity Centre Mallow Co Cork.
The boys arrived by coach to ballyhass on friday June 26th.That evening was spent just exploring the Centre. The cubs went for a walk around the lake while the scouts stayed at the campsite.
On Saturday morning the boys took part in Zip line and Leap of tFaith The cubs did the Zipline across 160 meters of Zipline over the ballyhass Lake 60 meters above ground. The scouts did the leap of faith. This is where the boys had to climb up over 100 meters stand on a platform and leap off it to catch a trapez bar.The second activity saw both groups change positions.
After lunch the cubs started with team building while the Scouts went Canoeing. The team building was an activity where everyone had to complete a task together to complete the challange>The scouts had great fun canoeing across Ballyhass Lake.Again botj Groups swapped positions for the 4th actvitity
That completed day one and so the boys returned to the Campsite for dinner. On Saturday evening after dinner the boys had time for themselves before we had our campsite whcih was run by Ashley and Andrew>During the campfire the Cub of the Year was presented to Tom Guinane while group leader Des Mckeown presented Cub leader Mike o halloran with his Woodbeeds and Certificate to say that he has completed all 6 stages of the Leaders Training and challanges
On Sunday after Breakfast the Boys had to more activities. The being Gladitor and Rock Climbing. The cubs did Gladitor first which was the challange of getting up a 75 meter obstecle coarse while the Scouts got to challange themselves on the outdoor climbing cliff.Again both groups swapped positions.Once both the cubs and scouts had completed both these challanges in the morning inwas time to leave for home.
It was a group of very tired cubs and scouts that arrived back to the scout hall at 4-30pm Sunday after a very active but most enjoyable and challanging weekend.
On behalf of the parents I would like to take this oppertunity to thank all the Leaders who gave up their time to help to give the boys a verry good and enjoyable weekend at this camp.
I would also like to thank the Cubs and Scouts for their wonderful beahaviour throughout the weekend.Yod did yourself and your family proud. Most importantly for the group you represnted Caherdavin Scout Group very well throughout the weekend.
Well down Boys
