Our Cubs are just back from a great weekend in Curraghchase. We had 19 cubs and 3 leaders on this weekend.we arrive on Friday evening and gave the boys time to explore the woods that night.
Saturday after breakfast the boys collected wood for the evening campfire. They then played capture the flag before again being give some freetime before lunch. After Lunch the younger cubs were taken on a hike up to Curraghchase Forest Park where they enjoyed sometime at the playground before walking around the lake and up to the monument.
The older cubs were shown how to use and ax and saw properly before heading to the Forest park where they met up with the rest of the cubs. After this it was back to the house for dinner. Unfortunately due to the weather turning bad we had to cancel the campfire and midnight hike.Instead the boys played charades and each group had to perform a 5 minute play.Hot chocolate and marshmallows finished the evening.
Sunday mornibg as spent packing up and tiding up the house. With this done the lads had some time to themselves before being picked up at lunchtime.it was great to see Leader Mary Geray Bourke visiting us on Sunday morning following her illness.Mary has been with the cub pack for years and we look forward to seeing her back weekly soon. Thanks to Group Leader Des McKeown and Group Secretary Catherine Clancy for paying a visit to us as well as Claire Walsh who called our to us also.Claire is coming on board the cubs as a new Leader.
A big thank you to Leaders Mike O Halloran,Ger Quigley and Ashley Lally for giving up their weekend and looking after the Cubs.
And finally to all the cubs well done on being so well behaved over the weekend and now we can all start looking forward to our next event
