Beavers- Camp in Ruan, Co, Clare (July 6th-7th)

This year the Group is celebrating its 40th anniversary and as part of this we will be holding a group camp for all sections at the Clare Scout County Campsite, Ruan, Co. Clare. The cost of the camp is €30 for Beavers. We request that all money must be paid in full by Monday July 1st.

The Beavers will arrive at the campsite on the Saturday 6th of July between 10.30 and 11.00 a.m. Following a busy day of activities we will camp overnight on the site.

Beavers that would prefer not to camp overnight are welcome to spend the day with us in Ruan and be picked up later that evening from 8pm. This will cost €10.

The local area of Ruan will be well signposted and directions will be available soon on the website. Please follow the marshal directions for entering and leaving the camp. Parents must arrange transport to and from this event. We recommend car-pooling.

On Sunday we invite parents to join us for a closing ceremony. (1-2p.m.) At 2 o’clock we hope the campsite will be empty, packed up and closed.

Beavers are required to bring the following items; sleeping bag, ground mat, pillow, bowl, plate, cup, knife/fork/spoon, rain gear, suitable footwear, warm clothing, spare clothes, spare footwear and several pairs of socks.

Beavers are not permitted to bring; toys, electronic games, fizzy drinks and sweets.

CSA Cratloe Sleepover Clonmacken Cubs

As part of the lads earning the Chief Scout Award we have arranged an extra event for the boys which is aimed at working on all aspects of this badge. This is short notice but as next weekend is the only weekend we have free we are going to run in then.

The venue for this sleepover is Cratloe. We have the use of a field in Cratloe for camping. It will be from 10am Saturday June 8yh till 2pm Sunday June 9th.We would like if all the boys could attend this event as it gives us a great chance for us to work with the boys in small groups and also on a one to one basis over the weekend. This is a challenging badge for the boys to get and every bit of help we can give them we will.

The cost of the weekend is €6 and this is only to cover the cost of the food.Everything else is free. This must be paid at cubs this Tuesday

Please contact me for any other information.A list of requirements will be given out on this Tuesday

Yours in Scouting,

Michael O Halloran
